…st never send friend links to, you know, friends. At least, not for the work I poured my soul into. I’ve certainly never encouraged my brother, my husband, or closest friends to get a Medium membership. Because I don’t want them to read everything I write.

Same here! I never share the friend links either, and I like it that way. My husband has fallen for Medium though, and ended up with a membership.
